La Liga - Robben out for two weeks

Real Madrid announce that winger Arjen Robben is likely to be out of action for two weeks.

Robben - a half-time substitute in the 2-2 draw with Espanyol on Sunday, had to be replaced himself 25 minutes later after picking up a hamstring problem.

The 24-year-old made way for fellow Dutchman Royston Drenthe.

The Spanish champions conducted further tests on the former Chelsea man on Monday morning, and club medics confirmed that he would be out for "more or less 15 days".

The injury rules Robben out of Netherlands' upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway, as well as the Madrid derby at local rivals Atletico on October 19 and possibly even the Champions League trip to Juventus two days later.

  1. Can't remember when Robben has been fit for more then 5 games in a row.
