Jelena Jankovic will be back on top of the world in Moscow, the perfect occasion for her to prove she deserves the number one ranking.
Each week 'In or Out' offers tips on players who could be worth picking with your two transfers, hopefully giving you an edge over your rivals. This week's tournament is the indoor hardcourt Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
Remember, you can still join the game and play against your friends, family and colleagues in a mini-league. Click on the link on the right to join up!
A Group
In: Jelena Jankovic
The US Open runner-up will reclaim the mantle of world number one at the start of the week, and is likely to celebrate with a strong performance in Moscow and perhaps even a title. The Serbian has been the most consistent player on the WTA Tour again this year, and for that alone deserves the year-end world number one ranking. She still has some way to go to secure it, but we think the Kremlin Cup will be the perfect first step.
Out: Ana Ivanovic
The French Open champion has signed up as a late entry for this event in an effort to lift her sluggish form. The once world number one has slipped to fifth in the rankings, and has not won back-to-back matches since her disappointing third-round exit at Wimbledon. Though she is again fully fit, it's Ana's confidence that is now the problem and until that returns she has to stay on the bench.
B Group
In: Victoria Azarenka
The 19-year-old Belarusian is riding her own wave of confidence after successive victories over fellow teen upstarts Agnes Szavay and Agnieszka Radwanska at Stuttgart, followed by a win over Olympic champion Elena Dementieva. Normally, defending Moscow champion Dementieva would be the second pick in this group after the brilliant season she has had, but Dinara Safina has been slightly more consistent of late.
Out: Maria Kirilenko
The Russian let us down this week in Tokyo as she followed up her Seoul title with a first-round exit in Japan. This deception relegates her to the fantasy scrap heap.
C Group
Someone who has never let us down yet, the Danish teen sensation has been brilliant in Tokyo - as predicted. The third most successful fantasy player this year after Dementieva and Safina, drop her, or fail to pick her, at your own risk.
Out: Alize Cornet
Cornet is the second-most popular selection in Group C and is probably the most talented member of the group. But the French 18-year-old has been horrid of late with her most recent failure coming in a first-round loss to Bulgarian non-threat Tszvetana Pironkova at Stuttgart.
D Group
In: Kaia Kanepi
The Estonian has proven fantasy gold for us and so many others this year, and after another semi-final appearance in Tokyo she is a must-have player. The surprise French Open quarter-finalist is the top Fantasy points scorer in Group D and is ending the season on a very strong note. Pironkova is your best second pick of a very poor litter.
Out: Anyone else
Not only is Kanepi the best player in this group worth having, she is the only player in this group worth having.

as top one you are required to win EVERY match you play or be teased & taunted
I really dont understand what is the difference beetween being no 1 with or without wining a Slam???? Either way, you still have to be a really good player to achive it.. Leave her alone! She deserves it 100 percent!
Jelena is the most steady of all tennis players (women) for quite some time. She has deserved to be the number 1. Just see how many finals and semi-finals she took the place in. No other player can compare so far. Beating Venus who I find extraordinary and outstanding player and in such a great form at the moment is quite an achievement. Seeing Jelena being so relaxed and yet winning is a great pleasure. She is not the tennis machine, the girl has a life aside and enjoys it.
So, Jelena, keep on going. You're the Queen !
only short time stand in temp one place allocated by error to be corrected
we need some class conduct at top not snarling screams
a real joke at top who never won any .. prestigious top tennis tournament-- faulty ra nk system
Jankovic has won Majors in Girls' Singles and Mixed Doubles, but to be worthy of #1 in Women's Singles, one must win a Major in Women's Singles. The WTA should award a million ranking-points to anyone who wins a Major.
Plus Jelena won against her at least twice this year, right?!
@vvagabond747
wot a laughable ranking system
a girl with numerous Grand Slam titles to her name is ranked No 8
while a kid who has NEVER won any important tennis title is ranked No 1 ~~~ wot a joke Ha Ha Ha
seems to be a little faulty somehow // ??
Yeah, but when did she win one of these... none this year for sure...

@yekaterinabelle
should Dinara Safina win Kremlin Cup Tier 1 tournament ~~ she can become No 1
Well, that's not true, i think... don't forget Safina is defending semifinal, and JJ only 1 point from the last year... even if JJ losts her first match and Safina wins the tournament, JJ will still be on the top position...
congratulations to joker jelener don't know how it happened
NEVER an important top slot event win == very smart interloper
Alo, may I have your attention please. Jelena won Wimbledon mix double with J. Maurray!!! So, if Wimbledon (craddel of tennis) is not grand slaaam, than I am sorry.
Very nice, very nice! Bravo Jeco.
why did jelenar decide to use such unsporting tactics in the semi final ????
beauty queen Dinara Safina can become No 1 if she controls her emotions & wins top events
becoming No 1 you are expected to win EVERY match you play
and be taunted non stop if you don't
