Ipswich centre-back Jack Ainsley has joined Rushden & Diamonds on loan until January.
The 19-year-old, who started his career as a striker before converting to a defender, was offered a professional deal at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Ainsley has joined Diamonds to gain first-team experience and is eligible for their FA Cup tie against Hinckley on Saturday.
