Macclesfield manager Ian Brightwell believes Sheffield United midfielder James Ashmore can help to halt his side's alarming slide. The Silkmen have not won in nine League Two outings and last weekend's 2-1 home defeat to Morecambe left them 20th in the table.
Brightwell last week signed rookie Ashmore, 21, on a month's loan and more new faces are set to follow.
"James hasn't played in their first team but has played a lot of reserve games and they've got high hopes of him," said Brightwell.
"He's a ball-playing midfielder who can get up and down the pitch, very comfortable on the ball but with lots of energy.
"There will be new faces throughout the squad by the time we go to Peterborough at the weekend."
