Northampton boss Stuart Gray has made his first signing in January by loaning Leicester winger Jonathan Hayes until the end of the season. The 20-year-old winger was signed by former Foxes manager Martin Allen from Reading in the summer after an impressive loan spell under him at MK Dons but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since Allen's departure from the Walkers Stadium.
Gray said: "Jonathan is a player I have known since his time at Reading and I have kept tabs on him at Leicester.
"He has had an excellent grounding in the game and he is an attacking wide left player with a lot of pace. He has good ability going forward and can cause problems for defenders and stretch teams.
"He is here for the rest of the season and I think he will be a good addition to the squad."
