Grimsby boss Alan Buckley will be without cup-tied pair Martin Butler and Sam Hird for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at Stockport.Striker Butler played for parent club Walsall in an earlier round of the competition, while Hird, also on loan, appeared for Doncaster against Grimsby in the northern section quarter-final in November.

Mariners midfielder Danny Boshell is back in contention for the semi-final against Stockport after missing Saturday's win at Chesterfield through illness.

Ciaran Toner remains sidelined with a long-term hamstring problem, but Buckley has no new injury or suspension worries and is not expected to make too many changes to his side.

Grimsby's 2-1 win at Chesterfield was their third straight league success and lifted them to 15th place in the table.
