Bolton boss Gary Megson will attempt to secure a deal for Portsmouth midfielder Matt Taylor after confirming he will hold more talks on Monday. The left-sided player - who has been frozen out at Fratton Park so far this season after been a regular in the side last term - is rated in the £3million bracket.
The emergence of Niko Kranjcar and the capture of Hermann Hreidarsson has seen Taylor fall down the pecking order.
"We've spoken to Portsmouth and I think, as far as they are concerned and we are concerned, we've got a deal between the two clubs," Megson told the Bolton Evening News.
But Pompey chief Harry Redknapp is reluctant to sell the 26-year-old - who is also interesting Sunderland - until he has added to his depleted squad.
"Matty wants to leave," Redknapp told the Portsmouth News.
"He wants to move and we have had a couple of clubs in for him.
"But I can't sell anyone until we get some people in.
"As soon as I get some people in who I think will improve the team I will think about selling him.
"Until then, he won't go. Whether he wants to go or not is not important to me."
