Luton defender Chris Perry has revealed he arrives for training every day expecting his team-mates to have been sold by the troubled club. The deadline for interested parties to formally lodge a bid with the club's administrators passed at 5pm and, with no announcement expected until the morning at the earliest, Perry admits the players are as confused as anyone.
Chairman David Pinkney had agreed to fund the losses of the club out of his own pocket but that deal expired at the end of the year, leaving administrators with no option but to sell the likes of Wales midfielder Dave Edwards, captain Chris Coyne and midfielders David Bell and Matthew Spring to the highest bidder.
Perry said: "I'm just turning up for training every morning at the minute to see who's still here.
"There's been talk of five or six of our players moving and I'm sure over the next couple of weeks we'll see who's going to be here until the end of the season.
"We have players who are a class above this division and that is why there is a lot of interest in them. They will be very difficult to replace."
