Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has confirmed Cheltenham are one of "20 clubs" vying for the loan signature of striker Steve Brooker.Brooker, 26, will feature in City's reserve team game against Cheltenham on Tuesday as he continues to recover from the two knee operations he underwent in 2007.

And Bristol City boss Gary Johnson admitted he would be open to short-term loan offers in a bid to increase the striker's match fitness.

"There is a lot of interest in Brooks. We have had loan bids from 20 clubs," Johnson told City's official website.

"I will sit down and discuss it with Brooks. If we both feel it is right then we will let him go out on loan for a short time to build up some match fitness."
