Southampton goalkeeper Michael Poke has joined high-flying Blue Square Premier side Torquay on a month-long loan. The 22-year-old is currently third-choice at St Mary's and has left to gain some match practice after recently recovering from undergoing knee surgery at the start of the season.
Poke will miss the Gulls visit of Burton on Monday night and is ineligible for Saturday's FA Carlsberg Trophy clash with Newport County before coming into contention for the trip to Salisbury on January 19.
Torquay boss Paul Buckle told the club's official website: "Michael comes highly recommended and with a good pedigree.
"He will strengthen the squad and I'm sure he will make a big impact in his time with us."
