Hull coach Peter Sharp expects young hooker Danny Houghton to make a big impact in Super League this year.
Sharp has strong options at hooker, following the signing of versatile Australian superstar Shaun Berrigan - but he still sees a big role for Academy product Houghton.
The youngster was one of a number of players to shine in the 66-22 friendly win at Dewsbury, in which Tom Briscoe claimed a hat-trick and new signing Todd Byrne also scored.
Sharp said of Houghton: "He is a very good player, and it will take a very good player to keep him out of first grade.
"I also felt Todd Byrne showed up well on his debut. He showed what a great support player he is and what an excellent touch he has."
