British number one Andrew Murray has risen to ninth in the ATP rankings after his Doha win.
Murray replaces David Nalbandian, who slips one place to tenth, forcing Tommy Robredo down to eleventh. Otherwise there are no changes in the top ten, with Roger Federer top, followed by Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
The 22-year-old Scot dropped from a career-high eighth to 14th last year after missing the French Open and Wimbledon through injury and the rest of his season form not matching the heights of early 2007.
But his victory at the Qatar Open at the beginning of January - where he comfortably beat fourth-ranked Nikolay Davydenko in the semi finals - saw him rise two places ahead of the Australian Open.
Murray will now warm-up for the first Grand Slam of 2008 by taking part in the annual Kooyong exhibition tournament in Melbourne.
