Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has admitted he is struggling to find a successor for coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.

Hitzfeld will leave the Bavarian giants at the end of the current campaign, leaving one of the biggest jobs in European football vacant.

But the search for his replacement is proving difficult, with the majority of potential candidates already tied up elsewhere.

"Almost 90 percent of the coaches who interest us are under contract with another club," Hoeness (pictured) told Bild.

Bayern have been linked with a number of big names, including Jose Mourinho, Marco van Basten and Frank Rijkaard, but the Bundesliga club have so far failed to lure anyone to the Allianz Arena.

"We are still in the same situation as before the winter break," Hoeness added.

"We do not feel under any time pressure at all and we will certainly not make any panic decisions because we all know that the next shot must hit the mark.

"However, the whole issue is not as easy as the public think."

After a disappointing season last time out when they failed to qualify for the Champions League, Bayern are back on top of the Bundesliga at the half way stage of this season, edging Werder Bremen to top spot on goal difference.

The German season gets back underway at the beginning of next month.
