Barcelona (to face Celtic on Wednesday February 20th)

El Barça were fortunate to secure a 2-0 win at Real Mallorca that temporarily cut Real Madrid's lead at the top of La Liga to four points - before their fierce rivals pulled the same stunt at home to Zaragoza. Mexico captain Rafael Marquez and Cameroon hot-shot Samuel Eto'o, soon to leave for the African Cup of Nations, scored the goals. The latter was set up by a fit-again Thierry Henry.

Lyon (to face Manchester United on 20th)

Man Utd fans will not be too concerned by the French champions taking apart lowly Creteil to reach the last 32 of the Coupe de France. The 4-0 victory was earned through a hat-trick from highly-rated striker Karim Benzema while captain Juninho also struck.

Milan (to face Arsenal on 20th)

The winter break in Italy does not end until next weekend, when Milan are due to host Napoli. To fill the empty void Brazil's Golden Ball winner Kaka said it was "easy" to beat Liverpool and Man Utd last year - but does not expect it to be quite so simple against the Gunners. "Just because we beat Manchester [United] and Liverpool with relative ease does not mean it will be equally simple playing against the Gunners. They are a very dangerous team and we have to hold them in high regard."

Internazionale (to face Liverpool on Tuesday 19th)

The Nerazzurri are sitting pretty at the top of Serie A with a seven-point lead over Roma ahead of their clash at Siena on the 13th - but lost to near-namesakes Internacional in the final of the Mohammad bin Rashid International Football Championship final in Dubai. Fernandao and Nilmar scored for the Porto Alegre outfit either side of Luis Jimenez's strike for the Italian champions but Inter striker Hernan Crespo did not name this friendly tournament when he said: "We are working to win every competition. We would obviously like to win the Champions League, but I wouldn't mind winning the Scudetto again. Liverpool? We respect them, just like they respect us. It will be a great clash."

Internacional 2-1 Internazionale

Olympiacos (to face Chelsea on 19th)

Former Sheffield Wednesday striker Darko Kovacevic hit a brace inside three minutes to help Olympiacos come from behind to defeat home team Iraklis 2-1 in Thessaloniki at the weekend, a result which saw them regain top spot in Greece. Athens rivals AEK missed their chance to go back above them by losing 2-1 at Asteras Tripolis.
