Thu 07 Feb, 02:15 PM

Hartlepool United striker James Brown could be sidelined for the next six weeks after sustaining knee ligament damage. The 21-year-old, who has scored 11 goals this season, picked up the injury in the second half of the 4-0 thrashing over Luton last weekend.

Brown is now set for a lengthy spell out, starting with Saturday's trip to Southend.

"It's bad news for us, no doubt about it," Pools boss Danny Wilson told the club's official website.

"But the way we have to look at it is that it's a chance for someone else to come in and stake their claim for a place in the side."
