Jelena Dokic and Samantha Stosur helped Australia advance to the Fed Cup World Group II play-offs with comfortable singles victories in the Asia-Oceania final against New Zealand in Perth.
Dokic put Australia ahead when she beat Diane Hollands 6-4 6-4, while the team's number one Stosur eased past world number 57 Marina Erakovic 6-1 6-4 to give the hosts an unassailable 2-0 lead before the doubles match.
Casey Dellacqua and Rennae Stubbs then teamed up to complete a 3-0 sweep with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Kairangi Vano and Shona Lee.
Stosur said the strength of the Australian team had proved too much for New Zealand and would help them in April's play-offs for the right to join the top 16 countries in next year's Fed Cup.
"The expectation was on us to win. I knew what I wanted to do today and I just had to do it," Stosur said. "We have a great team and a great shot against anyone.
"We have a great chance with three players in the top 100 (Dokic, Stosur and Dellacqua) and Rennae in the doubles."
