SPL - Rangers chief denies BBC claims
Rangers chairman Craig Whyte has rejected claims by the BBC concerning evidence he gave in court.
The corporation reported that during a civil case last year, Mr Whyte told a court his seven-year ban from being a company director did not relate to the treatment of creditors.
But the BBC claimed the judge who imposed the ban said company assets were "put out of the reach of the creditors".
Mr Whyte has accused the BBC of being on a "witch-hunt". His spokesman has said the allegation was "defamatory" and claimed it was "part of a concerted campaign by the BBC to embarrass Craig Whyte personally and to damage Rangers Football Club".
He said: "In specific terms, Mr Whyte totally refutes the scurrilous allegation that he may have committed perjury in a court of law in December last year. The responses he gave to questions relating to matters that took place some 17 years ago were given truthfully and to the best of his recollection."
In a statement posted on the club's official website, he said the "attack" would be "contested robustly" by Mr Whyte's lawyers.

Bottom line joseph, is that as of now, Rangers have no future, they are a busted flush. They have brought it all on themselves, without any help from anybody.
You and anybody else can indulge yourself in all the pointy fingered whataboutery you like, you can strut and preen yourself all you like, you can gloat all you like, you can quote all you like, but from this point, all you have is a tainted history looking back... and oblivion looking forward!

Before you get all pedantic on me again joseph, I should have said that Murray effectively controls 7% of MIH, since he is still the de facto owner!
165 million convertible shares that should be. As well as 30 odd% of the voting shares!
Joseph, you're just as well going to your bed, you're out of your depth now. The bank effectively own MIH, and have done for some considerable time now. They have £165 million in convertible preference shares owned by the bank's private equity arm, giving them a controlling interest in MIH. Murray can do nothing without the bank say so!
Lloyds own MIH in everything but name now; Murray effectively owns just about 7% of MIH.
well lysdexic if you dont know about something its better to remain quiet or learn about it before just spouting things that are false , truth is important .again the bank do not and never have had a controlling share in MIH.FACT
lol lysdexic for your information just to help you again MIH is not owned by the banks it is still david murray's and in fact reported profits in its tax returns the banks hold some shares in the company but not controlling :)
No joseph I haven't owned a ltd company. I haven't owned a Rolls Royce either, but I'm pretty sure that if you don't put petrol in it it wont run.
David Murray owned 85% of Rangers shares; the bank own MIH.
Whyte bought the bank debt, and transferred it to his own company. Rangers owe Whyte £23 million from that transaction.
Murray sold his 85% of Rangers to Whyte for £1. I think Whyte paid cash for that.
The 2 deals are separate.

It's just a wee bit more than obvious that Rangers know nothing about ltd. companies otherwise they would not be in the mire they're in, having been warned for more than a decade what the inevitable outcome would be!
But feel free to educate us all in the workings of ltd companies joseph, I'm sure Rangers would benefit from any advice they could get from you.
