Plymouth Argyle have allowed young striker Ashley Barnes to join Blue Square Premier side Salisbury on a month-long loan deal.Barnes, 18, should prove a useful acquisition for the Whites side in their quest for promotion to the Football League.

He has already had a loan spell at a Blue Square Premier club, playing four games for Oxford in December.

Barnes signed for the Pilgrims from Southern League Division One South and West club Paulton Rovers at the end of last season.

He has made only one first-team appearance so far, coming on as a substitute in the Carling Cup First Round win over Wycombe.
