Coleman: Strikers will come good

Fri 07 Mar, 03:30 PM

Coventry manager Chris Coleman believes his strikers are on the brink of ending their goal drought. The Sky Blues drew another blank against QPR on Wednesday night, and Coleman's side have now scored just three times in seven matches.

"You want your strikers to score and we had some chances the other night," Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.

"But they kept getting in there and that's the only way to correct what's going wrong."

Michael Mifsud is Coventry's leading marksman with 20 goals in all competitions, but his dip in form in the Championship has seen the Maltese international fail to find the net in Coventry's last 15 league matches.

"He needs a little bit more composure in the final third but you often find that with quick players who generally play at one speed," Coleman added.
