New deal for Wycombe ace Torres

Fri 07 Mar, 10:15 PM

Wycombe midfielder Sergio Torres has agreed terms on a new two-year contract which will keep him at the club until June 2010.The injured Argentinian playmaker, whose contract was set to expire in the summer, has been instrumental in the Chairboys' play-off push this season.

He has scored four times in 31 starts, and will put pen-to-paper on his new deal on the pitch at Saturday's clash with Darlington.

He told the club's official website: "It's a great feeling, this is my third season and I've been waiting for a few months to be offered a new contract. It's finally happened and I'm so happy to have agreed terms.

"I love it here, this is my first professional club - now I'm here for two more years it's going to be brilliant. I like the fans, I like the manager and I like the players - I've got no reason to leave.

"Saturday (the Darlington game) should be great, I'll be signing on the pitch and hopefully there will be lots of fans there to see it.

"I think I owe them after all the support they've given me."
