Wasps coach Shaun Edwards claims Danny Cipriani has done "nothing wrong" after the youngster was dropped from the England team by Brian Ashton on Thursday.
Cipriani, due to make his first Test start in the Calcutta Cup clash with Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday, did not even travel with the squad as punishment for what the Rugby Football Union termed "inappropriate behaviour".
Cipriani's director of rugby at Wasps, Ian McGeechan, has already spoken in defence of the 20-year-old, who was photographed leaving a nightclub shortly after midnight in the early hours of on Thursday.
And now his club coach Edwards has also jumped to his defence.
Edwards, who is also the assistant coach of Wales, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "In my eyes he has done nothing wrong.
"He wasn't drunk, didn't offend anyone and to me that's not a crime."
Edwards even went so far as to claim Cipriani's outing was something he would encourage.
"I would actually encourage him to go out with his friends and relax," he said.
