* Lyon, knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United, are three points ahead of Bordeaux at the top of the league.

"A defeat against Girondins would be ill-timed after our elimination by Manchester but our title hopes don't rest on this game, whathever the outcome," Toulalan (pictured) told reporters.

Lyon coach Alain Perrin is expected to pair up Ligue 1 top scorer Karim Benzema and Brazilian Fred. Perrin's squad is almost at full strength.

Defenders Cleber Anderson and Patrick Mueller, both sidelined with long-term knee injuries, are the only two players unavailable.

Bordeaux will be without defender Marc Planus and midfielder Jussie, both nursing groin injuries.

* St Etienne will play their 2,000th game in the top flight when they visit Marseille on Sunday in a clash between French football's two most successful sides with 18 titles between them.

St Etienne are missing goalkeeper Jeremie Janot due to a shoulder injury.

Senegal striker Mamadou Niang should be fit to play on Sunday despite his early exit during Marseille's 3-1 victory against Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.

Niang was substituted after scoring a goal, complaining of a leg problem.

* Struggling Paris St Germain will miss France midfielder Jerome Rothen, weakened by a virus, and injured forward Peguy Luyindula when they visit Stade Rennes on Saturday.

* Lille coach Claude Puel is not popular with his forwards because of his defensive tactics.

After Nicolas Fauvergue, who was left out of the team after critisising Puel last week, Belgium Kevin Mirallas told reporters he could leave the side because of his "disagreement" with the coach.

* Third-placed Nancy will be without Brazilian striker Kim when they host Monaco on Saturday.

Nancy's leading scorer is out for three weeks due to a foot injury.
