Sixth round

Saturday, March 8th

Queen of the South v Dundee

Doonhamers defender Jim Thomson returns from suspension but Robert Harris (hamstring) is doubtful. Stevie Tosh is eligible despite his sending-off against Hamilton as he serves his ban in the league.

Dundee have January signings Mickael Antoine-Curier and Colin McMenamin cup-tied while playmaker Kevin McDonald and defender Gary McKenzie are suspended. Striker Derek Lyle joined Scott Robertson on the injured list after falling through a coffee table earlier in the week. Winger Gavin Swankie (thigh) is rated doubtful so new signing Patrick Noubissie is likely to make his debut after joining on loan from Hibernian.

St Johnstone v St Mirren

St Johnstone are boosted by the return of Liam Craig and Steven Anderson after suspension. Youngster Kevin Moon is a doubt, while up to seven players remain on the sidelines through injury.

St Mirren are likely to be without full-back David Barron who is still suffering from a groin injury but Craig Dargo will return from a foot problem. Jim Hamilton is cup-tied while broken foot victims Stephen O'Donnell and Richard Brittain remain out despite returning to training.

Sunday, March 9

Aberdeen v Celtic

Jamie Smith is set to return after recovering from a hamstring problem he picked up in the January 26 defeat to Hearts. Darren Mackie, Richie Byrne, Jackie McNamara, Stuart Duff (all hamstring), Derek Young (knee), Steve Lovell (foot) and Barry Nicholson (suspended) all miss out.

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is suspended after he picked up yellow cards in the previous two cup games against Stirling Albion and Kilmarnock. Defender Andreas Hinkel returns to the squad after being cup-tied for the Champions League defeat by Barcelona in midweek.

Fifth round replay

Rangers v Hibernian

Rangers will be without keeper Allan McGregor who is suspended for the fifth-round replay and will be replaced by Neil Alexander. Jean-Claude Darcheville is available after serving the last of a three-match European ban against Werder Bremen but remains a doubt with a hamstring strain.

Former Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish and Gretna defender Martin Canning are cup-tied for Hibs, so manager Mixu Paatelainen could bring back Abdessalam Benjelloun or opt to play Steven Fletcher up front on his own. Skipper Rob Jones should return after missing four of the last six games due to thigh and hamstring problems that have plagued him since before Christmas. Goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay (groin) and Guillaume Beuzelin (knee) are both racing to be fit in time.
