Premier League - Fears for Nani after horror tackle
The Portuguese midfielder is expected to face a lengthy lay-off after suffering a horrific gash in his leg, with Jamie Carragher's rash challenge just before half-time apparently having cut the United player to the bone.
Nani, United's most creative player this season, was stretchered off, while Carragher was cautioned by referee Phil Dowd.
Press reports suggested that former England defender Carragher waited outside the United dressing room to apologise to Nani for his studs-up challenge.
There was no reaction from the United coaching staff as In a pre-planned move, they blanked the media on Sunday. Sir Alex Ferguson did not speak to host broadcaster Sky Sports, either before or after his side's third Premier League defeat of the season.
His assistant Mike Phelan did not carry out his usual post-match engagements with the BBC, arranged due to Ferguson's long-standing feud with the organisation and radio rights holders talkSPORT were also left without any comment from the visitors.
And for the first time, even United's own television channel, MUTV, left a senior game without any reaction, which is an embarrassing situation in itself.
