Boss happy Dyer is on board

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson is pleased to see Bruce Dyer playing football again after handing the striker his Spireites debut.Richardson signed Dyer on a short-term deal last month after the 32-year-old became a free agent after being released by Doncaster.

Dyer made his first appearance for Chesterfield, and his first appearance in the Football League since September, as an 82nd-minute substitute in the 4-1 win over Shrewsbury at Saltergate.

"It was nice to see Bruce get back playing and I am sure he is happy to be playing again," said Richardson. "I was pleased with his contribution

"He is an experienced professional, a journeyman if you like, who has not had the best of times in the last couple of years with injuries and things and we have given him the opportunity to try and get his career going again."
