Mansfield boss Paul Holland has given his players an extra day off in a bid to ensure they are fresh for Wednesday's crucial trip to Stockport.Depending on Notts County's result at Rochdale 24 hours earlier, the Stags could climb out of the relegation zone with victory at Edgeley Park.
Holland felt his side tired towards the end of Saturday's game against Barnet, when they conceded twice inside the last 20 minutes to surrender a winning position and eventually draw 2-2.
"I told them I would give them Monday off this week if they got a good result against Barnet. In the end I have given them it off anyway to rest up," said Holland.
"I didn't think there was any point in bringing them in for the sake of it. It will do them good to be away from the football club for a couple of days.
"I thought the lads looked tired both physically and mentally on Saturday late on. They will be back in fresher (on Tuesday) and then we can prepare for Stockport."
