Injury-ravaged United turn to youth

Mon 07 Apr, 01:30 PM

Rotherham boss Mark Robins plans to utilise the club's youth players in a bid to get his depleted squad through to the end of the season. The cash-strapped Millers were unable to make any emergency loan signings last month as they are currently under a transfer embargo after entering administration.

A spate of injuries to Robins' already small squad left him with even fewer options against Brentford on Saturday as the Millers slipped to their fourth defeat in six matches.

"We have a few injuries and we are now down to the bare bones so there isn't a lot I can do apart from shuffle the pack, which means we will have to utilise the youth squad," said Robins.

"We will now look at some of the younger lads and see if they can step up. We only have four games left to play so hopefully they will be able to get us through to the end of the season."
