Northampton forward Colin Larkin has revealed that he is set for surgery this week to sort out a long-standing hernia injury.Larkin was recalled to the starting line-up for the last game of the season against Tranmere but has been carrying the problem for some months.

He said: "I have a double hernia operation booked in this week.

"I have been playing with it for the last three or four months to help the team and as soon as the operation is done I will be working on my fitness to hit the ground running for pre-season.

"In terms of running the hernia hasn't caused me any problems but I have felt it when shooting and crossing and I have had to be careful."
