Preston North End have signed youngsters Dean Stott and Rob Turner following their release by Championship rivals Burnley. The pair have been watched by numerous clubs during their two-year scholarship at Turf Moor, which came to an end this week, but it was the Lilywhites who secured the youngsters' signatures.
Both defender Stott and North End season-ticket holder Turner will initially take their place in the club's development squad, which helps players make the step-up to the levels required in the senior squad.
Dean Ramsdale, Preston's head of youth development, told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have got in there before other clubs and offered them a pro-contract.
"I've watched them throughout their two-year scholarship and I've taken a big interest in them."
