Veteran defender Linvoy Primus has signed a new one-year deal with Portsmouth despite the 34-year-old not playing for a year due to injury. His knee injury meant that he did not activate a clause in his contract that would have earned him a new contract if he played a certain number of games, but the club have still decided to retain his services for next season.
The former Reading man told the club;s website: "I was at the training ground last week when (chief executive) Peter Storrie pulled me to one side and said that the club wanted to offer me another year.
"I'm so happy. I'm so pleased to have been given another year, so my first words are 'thank you'."
Storrie added: "Linvoy has been a fantastic servant to this club both on and off the field. He deserves the opportunity to get fit and have a go next season."
