Danny Schofield is poised to sign for Yeovil after being released from Huddersfield, much to the delight of Glovers manager Russell Slade. The 28-year-old announced his decision to quit Town for personal reasons in February and will sign his new contract at Huish Park on July 1 after being released by Huddersfield's new manager Stan Ternent.
Slade told the Glovers' official website: "This ends the search to replace Arron Davis as Danny is extremely versatile as he can play on the left and right wing and down the middle.
"More importantly he can get a goal, so we are delighted that he is coming down to Yeovil."
Schofield arrived at Huddersfield from non-league Brodsworth Welfare FC for a small fee in 1998 and made his full debut the following May against Crewe.
Schofield, acknowledged as one of Huddersfield's most gifted players, made a total of 247 appearances for the Terriers and scored 39 goals.
