Michael Bell's speedy juvenile Art Connoisseur has stepped up his Royal Ascot preparations.
The Lucky Story colt is unbeaten in two starts at Leicester and Newmarket and created a huge impression on the second occasion, sparking talk of a Norfolk Stakes tilt.
His trainer had considered a possible appearance at Windsor before the Royal meeting, but that has now been put on the back-burner.
"He did his first piece of work back today and we are priming him for Ascot," said Bell.
"With the penalties he would have had to carry we decided not to go to Windsor.
"There is still the National Stakes at Sandown to consider and he could go there or he could go straight to Ascot."
