Great Britain men's wheelchair basketball team outlined their Beijing Paralympic credentials with a stunning victory over USA at the Paralympic World Cup.
The British team, who scooped bronze at the event last year, registered a nail-biting 58-51 win over the reigning Paralympic silver medallists at the Manchester Regional Arena.
Veteran Simon Munn - who is aiming to compete in his fifth Paralympic Games in China this year - top scored for Murray Treseder's side with 17 points.
But despite using all his experience to see Team GB home, the 40-year-old insists he still has to prove his worth before securing a seat on the plane to Beijing.
"The selectors will pick the team for Beijing straight after this tournament,'' said Munn. "There is a lot going on in our squad at the moment because everyone is a bit on edge.
"The coaches have got a big decision to make so we all want to do well and win this tournament.
"I was delighted for the team that we got off to a great start. This is our selection camp so everyone is putting in some really good performances.
"The USA team is strong but I think we can play even better than that to be honest.
"We have got to play Germany and Sweden yet and they are both good sides. But I'm sure we can do well and hopefully pick up a medal.''
Elsewhere, GB's women's team got off to the perfect start with two wins out of two on day one.
Gary Peel's troops - who narrowly missed out on a spot on the podium in last year's competition - blew Brazil off the court with a convincing 51-44 win before edging out China 54-47.
And veteran Ann Wild, who contributed nine points to Team GB's haul against the South Americans, is adamant her team-mates have the potential to finish the week with a medal.
"The Brazilians gave us a real examination,'' said 35-year-old Wild. "It is great to get an opening win under our belts and we had a really good collective unit out on court.
"We were delighted we could follow that up with a win against China because two games in a day is tough.
"But I believe we can continue to improve and I have every confidence we can do well this week.''
