Polska, bialo-czerwoni! Crvena Zvezda's Poland international left wing-back Grzegorz Bronowicki, who underwent a knee surgery less than two weeks ago, said that he is confident of making a full recovery and getting back in form before the start of Euro 2008.
"I have been training hard for a couple of days. I am running, jumping and doing exercises to stabilise and strengthen my knee," Bronowicki, who started practising with a ball on Monday, told Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.
"According to the doctor the surgery was necessary. Three weeks ago I was injured in a game. The medical exams showed that the knee ligaments were not damaged but the knee should have been cleared any way. The surgery lasted a bit more than an hour and the stitches are already out.
"There always is uncertainty and especially after such an injury. However, when I see the improvement I have made in the recent days it is hard not to be optimistic.
"There are two weeks left before the start of our training camp. The next days will make the situation clearer but at the moment I do not feel any pain."
Poland coach Leo Beenhakker is expected to reduce his provisional 32-man squad by six or seven on Thursday and the remaining 25 or 26 players will participate in the pre-Euro 2008 training camp in the German town Donaueschingen from May 19 to 31.
During the training camp, Poland will play three friendly games against FC Schafhausen, Macedonia and Albania on May 23, 26 and 27 respectively.
