Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has apologised to the club and their fans after being photographed outside a nightclub following the Champions League semi-final defeat by Manchester United.
The Denmark international striker, 21, was pictured leaving a London nightclub at 4am in the morning with his belt undone and jeans pulled down before being helped into a waiting car.
"I love this club and was so disappointed to lose against Manchester United last (Tuesday) night," the Dane, who came on as a second-half substitute, said Arsenal's website.
"Reaching a Champions League final is one of my biggest dreams and getting knocked out was a massive blow," he said after Tuesday's 3-1 loss and 4-1 aggregate defeat.
"However, no matter how disappointed I was, it does not excuse my behaviour later in the evening. I may be young but my actions were a poor error of judgement and something I deeply regret. I want to apologise to the club and the fans for letting them and myself down."
Bendtner has struggled to win over the club's fans this season despite scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

I'd want to drown my sorrows after such an awful performance!
I'd want to drown my sorrows after such an awful performance!
"Bendtner has struggled to win over the club's fans this season despite scoring 14 goals in all competitions." Cause he gives the ball away every chance he gets.
At least bendtner has struck a delightfully sweet vein of form this final quarter of the season and is doing well.. He shd ve started with Van Persie in the loss against Man U... Adebayor was anonymous AS ALWAYS...
Arsenal's defeat: Kenyan fan commits suicide
FOLLOWING Arsenal's exit in the Champions League, due to a 4-1 aggregate thrashing dished out by English rival Manchester United, an avid Gunners fan killed himself and was found dead still wearing his Arsenal shirt, police confirmed. Suleiman Alphonso Omondi, 29, from Embakasi, Nairobi, in Kenya, watched the match in the pub but when the realisation dawned on him that his side was crashing out of the Champions League, he became inconsolable, and left the tavern in fits of tears, Calvin Otieno - one of Omondi's friends - explained to AFP. "We were watching the match at Bamba 70 pub, and when Arsenal were defeated, Suleiman just walked out in protest and he was crying," Otieno said. "We didn't know he was going to hang himself until this morning, when we received the reports and came here to find his body at the balcony." Arsenal is one of the most popular clubs in Africa, and the Premier League and Champions League are among the hottest football fixtures on the continent. They are more widely watched than Africa's own domestic competitions.
leave the lad alone.he that dosnt drink when he feels bad should cast the first stone
Stuart L . Your comment is so crazyy hahahahahahah!!
he should apologize for pretending to be a footballer he is garbage
if he was going to walk about with his belt undone and trousers down he should have at least had his girlfriend or boy friend with him.
left on his own i see makes as much effort pulling as he does on the pitch
waste of space bye bye see you in the championship
As much as I hate Arsenal for taking our 4th spot!! lol
Are 21 yr olds not allowed out?? Footballers are only human and do like to go out!!
It's not as if it was the night before the game.
A Villa fan.
I discovered a hot place

I agree with your assessment, up until you call the stupidity 'liberal dogma'. A liberal approach would be to say, let him have a pint.
I think you really have a problem with 'Outraged of Tonbridge Wells' - who probably reads the Daily Mail and isn't a liberal.
Otherwise, yeah mate, I'm with you!
Haaa the way we knock yous out it would turn any player to drink haaaa all good in the man u hood.
First off is the toon fans started to take there own lives after bad defeats there would be aprox... eight of us left nine if you include Gabby Yorath. and secondly if you are going to go to a night club after a game take ....Joey Barton, hell go the whole hog. And thirdly why wasnt he drunk? that time of night. Giving him big money is a waste of time, give it to someone that knows how to enjoy a drink or two like errr..Joey Barton
bendtner is useless anyways
he should have stayed home for 48 hours with the curtains drawn and all sharp implements taken away from him....thats how bad his team were. they are on there day are best passe,s of a ball I have ever seen in a team. on tuesday they could not pass wind..............From a daft geordie that dislikes Man U
I don't understand the point of this. I am an arsenal fan and a Bendtner fan and fair play if he wants to let off steam and disappointment on a night out why not. At least it wasn't the night before the match and that hindered his performance. I'm sure we've all drowned our sorrows with our mates when things haven't worked out. He's only human and why shouldn't he have a night out. Its not like Arsenal players get snapped all the time like other teams. Let him have a life, he's just like us.
How pathetic, it's not like he had a sneaky pint at half time, I went to the pub after work last night........... Do you think I should write a letter of apology now??
Can someone please explain what the fuss is about? Did he get charged with assault or affray or something? Why is this a news item? This is right up there in terms of news worthiness as headlines such as "Man finds 50p in street" or "Woman had sex with her husband".
