Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate is targeting Champions League qualification next year after finishing the current campaign with a flourish.
Spurs are still in the hunt for a Europa League place this season and Woodgate wants to continue their recent good form after the summer, echoing the sentiments of boss Harry Redknapp.
"I want to finish as far as we can up the league," Woodgate said. "The aim is always to get in the top four and the Champions League."
He added: "We'll see how we do. It's going to be a better team next year, you can see how the team has changed under the manager we have now.
"Robbie (Keane) and Jermain (Defoe) have been good acquisitions for the squad, along with Wilson Palacios, who has been brilliant for us.
"It's taking shape in the training ground and we are starting to do it on a Saturday."
Spurs have been helped by Woodgate's partnership with Ledley King in defence.
They have conceded just nine goals in 18 home games and could beat their record of 11 during the 1919-20 season.
"The defence is unbelievable," said goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes on Spurs TV Online. "They play very well all the time, they help us so much for our clean sheets.
"It is the best defence I have played in, they understand the game so much and that is important for us."

hahahaha here we go again..we hear that every year
who are they goin to put out the top 4? chelsea, they have proven how good they actually are. utd, no. liverpool? doubt it, even though they have a bad manager. arsenal, look to be finally having a decent squad and willing to buy
I think they have a good team and of course you would expect to get better next season as have the money to buy but so do the big 4. plus you still need to pass everton and villa as well as city with all the money in the world
top 4? they ve been saying for years! its more likely to be villa or everton if it happens. but credit to Redknapp as he sorted out Ramo's mess. good job
too many gypsy gooner scum on this page. why you reading Spurs news?
IMO three of the top four could be vunerable next year. Chelsea for all for Huddinks organisational skills have an aging squad and do not seem to have great strength in depth plus Hiddink will be gone, Arsenal are the complete opposite and IMO the spine to their team is weak CF & CBacks and Liverpool appear to have little money to spend, unless there is a regime change, and they are too reliant on Torres and Gerrard staying fit which seems unlikely looking at their injuries this year.
City, Spurs, Villa and maybe Everton will have a squeak next year if they can improve their squads slightly
with man utd arsenal chelsea liverpool everton and villa i doubt it
Haha joke of the year so far!! Tottenham is a team that can finish between 5 -8 but not more...
what happened when u conceded 5 at united
Spurs can crack the top four !!! Spuds and Harry will do their brains in as usual buying all and sundry during the summer and end up with their usual pile of overpriced misfits.8th at best for the Lily@#$%s next season regardless of how much they spend or who they buy.
Harry and his twitch to be gone by Christmas.
hahahaahaha.every start to a season spurs are always saying this thing of top four.but by the half of the season they will proclaim it will be the next season.well talk is cheap woodgate lets see how well u play to take spurs there
