Bremen's manager and winning goalscorer were thrilled to make the last ever final of the UEFA Cup.
Thomas Schaaf (Bremen coach): "It was a great and open game - sensational. We always believed we could do it and we kept working until the end. (On Diego's suspension for the final) For Diego this is of course a nightmare. We could have used him a lot in the final."
Martin Jol (Hamburg coach): "This is a bitter disappointment. With a bit of luck we could have scored more goals and got to the final. But Werder were more accurate."
Bremen goal-scorer Diego: "I think it was a hard game, we decided the game in the first half, this was important for us, we were the best team. (On his potential summer move) Right now, I am just concentrating on Werder Bremen, it is an important moment for me and the club. I am 200 percent for Bremen at the moment and any decision on my future will be taken at the end of the season."
