West Brom defender Marek Cech wants to leave the club this summer after having only limited first-team opportunities since signing from Porto last year.
The Slovakia international has started only two Barclays Premier League games for the relegation-threatened Baggies.
Cech told BBC WM: "My season here at West Brom is the worst of my career. For sure I'm looking to a change of club because of this year."
Albion boss Tony Mowbray has preferred the long-serving Paul Robinson as his first-choice left-back.
And Cech is concerned his lack of first-team football could cost him the chance to play in the 2010 World Cup finals.
He added: "I think things won't change here, I need to leave to play whole games.
"I'm a national player, I need to play. If I don't play I will lose my place in the national team.
"We are first in the qualifying table now, we have a big chance to go to the World Cup, and if I'm not there I'd be very sad."

good luck Marek, you could have made such a difference to our season if you had been given the chances you deserved, forgive me but were you not MAN OF THE MATCH against spurs, and then funny enough never played again but you carried that form playing for our reserve team,i applaud you for showing the attitude you have and you will be missed big time good luck to you.....our loss will be ce4ltics gain
I totally agree with the first comment, as Marek proved his composure on the ball and distribution of it and to add to it all he was able to defend when he played. As a season ticket holder and still 100% percent behind Tony Mowbrays footballing philosophies i can not understand why he was not used more and also it may have uped Robinsons game as well if Marek was given more time on the pitch, no disrespect to Robinson s commitment but unfortunately he does lack certain skills whichMarek seemed to have naturally in the very little chance he had to show it on the pitch.
i am a big big baggies fan and think cech has been treated disgraceful, good luck to him for his future.
