Tony Pulis wants Stoke to finish the season in style, so they can deliver the perfect response to those who doubted their top-flight credentials.
Victory against Hull on Saturday will assure Pulis' side of another crack at England's big names next season.
Pulis bristles at the criticism his team have had to take since they came up from the Championship.
"When we got promoted we were tipped to be relegated. We were written off before the season started, never mind the first game," said the Stoke boss. "So it has been lovely to galvanise everyone together, not just the club but the city itself.
"Look at the way the supporters have embraced us. If you work together and stick together, you can get results. We have had to scrap all along. We have become battle-hardened and it has been brilliant to prove people wrong.
"I want to finish the season on a high and hit the 40-point mark. That would be a fantastic achievement for the club and a measure of how far we have come."

I think that Stokes style of play gets results ,not pretty to watch more Div 1 style, direct, physical, and rough, as a neutral couldnt watch that every week ,do my head in. Think it is about time Premeirship top clubs are separated into a Super league approx half the the lower clubs are not on the same planet in wealth or player skills and really cant compete effectively, basically they all scrap to stay in Premiership while big boys breeze through all the competitions ,hoovering more cash in the coffers
cmon you mighty mighty riproaring potters, get the points we need to stay in the premier league. after waddo, who sits on his right hand, tony pulis sits on the left.
An so say all of us!!!! City till i die!!! AN WE ARE STOKE!!
TO RIGHT THEY R TOPS manager and chairman.WE R STOKE
TP is a great British manager and PC is a great British chairman of our club. How many teams can say that about their manager and chairman.
