Kronos Getting Read For The IRC

Kronos are all set to compete in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and next Wednesday will test its Peugeot 207 S2000 in France.

The Belgium-based Kronos squad are to run the official Peugeot Belgium entry with Bend Casier and Frederic Miclotte handling the driving and co-driving respectively.

Team Principal Marc Van Dalen is looking forward to the new programme with Peugeot. "We have had a close relationship with Peugeot Belgium for nine years, but this is the first time that we are running a Super 2000 car,” he explained.

The car has been built at the team's Nannine workshop. “From what we can see so far it appears to be very good,” Van Dalen continued. “The real proof will come in testing though, which is why we are all very keen to see the car run.”

Kronos cleaned up in the WRC last year with Sebastien Loeb and this year are running Manfred Stohl in the championship, but the team are cautious over their IRC programme with Van Dalen explaining that the team is new to the series - as is driver Casier.

“If we can make the top six that would be fantastic,” Van Dalen concluded.
