Notts County defender Mike Edwards insisted he never had any intention of leaving after signing a new two-year deal with the League Two side.On Thursday the 28-year-old put pen to paper on the deal which keeps him at Meadow Lane until 2010 despite interest from other clubs.
"I know it has taken a few weeks to get everything signed and sealed but I've had a manic few weeks since the end of the season," Edwards told the club's official website.
"Right now it is a relief and a weight off my mind that I am a Notts County player for two more years. It was never even an issue of going elsewhere."
