Chris Perry had no hesitation in completing a permanent move to Southampton, saying it took "about one second to make the decision".The 35-year-old defender joined Saints on a free transfer from Luton on Friday following a loan spell at St Mary's at the end of last season.

"It is good to be back. It took me about one second to make the decision," Perry told the club's official website. "As soon as I knew Southampton wanted me I was ready to sign.

"When I came here on loan last season I hoped it would lead to a permanent move, but obviously with the change of manager, I did wonder if it might not happen.

"But I have spoken to the new coach and I'm really looking forward to it."
