Italian Enrico Rossi beat out Damiano Cunego to claim victory in the 5th Memorial Marco Pantani.
The 26-year-old rider escaped about 26 kilometres into the 172.1-km race to Cesenatico along with compatriot Luca Celli. The Italian partnership built a maximum lead of eight minutes and five seconds at 96 kilometres into the race, but Celli faltered in the final ascent to the finish line dropping to tenth place behind the charging sprinters.
Rossi, the future brother-in-law of Argentine sprinter Riccardo Ricco, held off the Amstel Gold winner Cunego by five seconds.
Ukraine's Ruslan Pidgornyy claimed the last remaining spot in the podium after finishing second in the mass sprint in front of Italy's Leonardo Bertagnolli (fourth) and Luca Mazzanti (fifth).

Argentine sprinter Riccardo Ricco? Is this a mistake or is there another Ricardo Ricco?
