Serie A - Huntelaar wants to stay at Milan

PA Sport - Mon, 07 Jun 11:51:00 2010

Holland striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar maintains he has no intentions of leaving AC Milan - despite being linked with a move to Tottenham.

The 26-year-old is in South Africa with the Dutch squad ahead of the World Cup, and had been reported to be top of Harry Redknapp's transfer list.

Spurs boss Redknapp is keen to bolster his attacking options, having secured a place in the Champions League qualifiers for next season after finishing fourth, and is reportedly ready to offload Robbie Keane to Aston Villa.

However, former Ajax striker Huntelaar insists he has unfinished business at the San Siro, having arrived from Real Madrid in a £15 million move during August 2009.

"I see my name in the Italian newspapers and I don't understand why," Huntelaar said. "I would like to know who has said that I will be sold, because it doesn't seem like anyone from the club has said anything.

"No other club interests me: my agent has never spoken about a transfer and I want to stay at Milan. I will not leave Milan until I have demonstrated my worth."

  1. We don't want him. We want playing internationals, and he's not one playing today so far.

There's a reason he had to leave Madrid, he just was'nt good enough

  4. @11 YES SPURS and the Arse have different standards. SPURS look to BUY quality players and always aim high. The Arse just continue to disappoint.

  5. Once again it never ceases to amaze me that Gonners (see what #14 did there - thanks) supporters read these articles on Spurs AND then take the time to post a comment (#8&11 even posting twice!) Get a life! Go read the c**p they write about your team & post your thoughts there. Spurs have always been a 'sleeping giant' now it looks like we've woken up (at last) so lets see what happens over the next couple of years, with a new stadium & increased revenue, the world is our lobster! We just need 'arry to be offered a new contract now. COYS

  6. Of course Arsenul is a big club Comments ---- The papers state that huntelaar is an interest for the spurs - But in the papers - "Who Isn’t" I have seen about 30 listed players we are interested in? - The Gonners need to stop listening to paper talk and decide to pass uneducated comments "Just focus and try to win something - You should try to become and English club - with English players? Maybe you could play one or two English players and then you can comment on English football??? But I do agree with one comment "Good players are normally only attracted to Good clubs" Ask Fabregas looks like he is looking for one ;-)

  7. What is a big club these days? For me its not always qualifying for the CL every year and its def. not some team that spent millions in one year to make a team, its consistancy and History and there are really only 2 big clubs in England and that is Utd and Liverpool, look at both teams' history for a start there are no other teams in the league with their records, Arsenal, Chelsea, dont have the history but they do have the consistancy Chelsea win things Arsenal well ask any Arsenal supporter and ask them why they think they are a big club for me they are just a good side with a great manager when Mr. Wenger leaves bye bye your Big Club status, so as a Spurs supporter I dont see us as a one of the greatest teams ever im not stupid but I do believe that we have a good history and are in for some good times and are building a team that can someday be called great, so for the Arsenal guys who think we are @#$% only time well tell but one thing is for sure that we have won more than you have in last 5 years but right now are we bigger than you mmm maybe not but we def. have better class....
If Keane leaves Huntelaar might be good replacement but he was @#$% last year for AC and the Italian league is long way behind PL standards so he might struggle here.

  8. @ no.11 Of course the Arse is a massive club, they've won fuc* all for 5 seasons now, says it all, and qualifying for the champions league and never looking like winning it, isn't a massive season you gooner muppet. Teams, not just Spurs are breathing down your necks, Manure aren't the team they once were, neither are the Arse and we already know about the pool. I love the dodgy pissed off remarks from you gooners, if you weren't worried by us you wouldn't say anything, sad really.

  9. Of course Spurs is a MASSIVE CLUB. I mean, it is now in the Champion's League, and may even survive a qualifier against a team from Belarus before getting third place in the group stages before being killed by a team from Bulgaria in the Europa League. In the eyes of Spurs supporters, that is MASSIVE.

Spurs have different standards than The Arsenal.

  15. All that talk about proving his worth will disappear when the agent says the money is right. Time and again this type of talk vanishes under a pile of cash.

  19. This is a larf, just paper talk innit! As far as I'm aware our 'arry hasn't even said he'd like to sign him. He should be so lucky, but he can have another year on the Milan bench warming his butt and watching his price go down (& his future wages too). Perhaps this is his way of trying to get the Blue side of Manchester interested as they seem to want to sign anyone that any other team 'might' be looking at (according to the press that is)? Must be a slow news day.
