Aston Villa's expected movement in the transfer market over the summer is the main thrust of the Premier League speculation in The Sun and the Daily Star.
The Sun claims West Ham United are expecting a bid from Villa for Scott Parker if and when James Milner completes a £25 million move to Manchester City.
The paper says Villa want £30m for Milner, but feels City will not go above £25m.
The Star claims Villa manager Martin O'Neill is poised to finalise a £30m agreement with City for Milner's services, but claims O'Neill will look for £15m plus Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha as part of any prospective transfer.
Aston Villa have postponed contract talks with Milner as they expect Man City's latest bid for the England midfielder, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Sun is confident Frederic Piquionne will complete a £3m move from Lyon to West Ham today, having playing enjoyed a loan spell at Portsmouth last season under new Upton Park manager Avram Grant.
The Daily Mail says Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson will resume his pursuit of FC Twenty's Costa Rica striker Bryan Ruiz.
The Mail also believes Arsenal are discussing a £10m deal with Stuttgart over the transfer of their defender Serdar Tasci, while another report says that Sunderland are chasing Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan.
According to the Mirror, Manchester United have enquired about signing Karim Benzema in a £25m deal from Real Madrid, while Everton face losing England U21 player Dan Gosling for nothing because of an administrative mistake.
The Daily Express claims Inter Milan want Micah Richards in an £8m deal while they also say Ghana's Kwadwo Asamoah is a target for Arsenal and Manchester City.

@#$%? why do we want onuoha for? richards is a lot better player
I wish man city's squads will be wright-philips. barry, de jong, micheal johnson, kolo toure, jerome boateng, lesscot, carlos tevez, adebayor, bellamy. I think city has enough middle-defenders. So we need perfect strike for example Ibrahimovic however he was bad last year Roberto Mancini know him. And we need fernando torres and robinho. I'm mongolian I really love man city.
milner=overated
Hands off Milner City...not sure what Gareth Barry said to Milner as he would have been better focusing on his football the way he played in South Africa, you see what playing for City can do to you James... don't do it and yes Martin get Scott Parker as well he possesses a key ingredient sadly lacking in the Premiership at the moment and that’s a bit of passion... add in there Joe Cole and I look forward to watching you next season !!
If Man City get Milner then.........well why? I rate Milner and Im not saying he's any better or any worse than the following who play in Midfield.
Silva........ Bellamy (Winger) Viera, De Jong, Toure, Kompany, Barry, Micheal Johnston (whose really good), Ireland, Adam Johnston, SWP, Fernandes (he's still there)........so how exactly does he play regularly?
I mean City have already brought two midfielders.......
This is just madness.
I will be pig sick if Milner goes, but, who knows what Barry filled his head with while on England holiday. Milner should talk to the likes of Sidwell,Wright-Philips & Parker about big money moves that dont work out. MON & Learner keep saying that we will challenge for CL, not if we keep getting rid of prized assets. Come on VILLA show us supporters that you are serious about building on last season & not be content with 6th place again. Joke of the day: Fair play to Emile Heskey after a disasterous world cup,he came back put on a nice white frock & won the ladies singles title @ Wimbledon
Man City Spend Big Money to do what exactly? You would have thought that millner would have rather stopped at villa based on last season but he want's the money so let him go.
The papers are wrong....again. Scott Parker is not leaving West Ham. He's the one player that is off limits. Just check out the club website and he is the face of the Hammers, along with a youthful looking Avram Grant.
Keane, Ireland, Parker and Onuoha for Milner would represent astonishing business for Villa.
Ditto Jo Cole, Gago and Van Der Vaart for Torres or Mascherano for Liverpool.
Chelsea will still win the league again, though, sadly.
If the paper's are to believed, and MON has cancelled contract talks with Milner
then we can safely the deal is done, and yet again another promising player goes east.
But if his leaving cover's the cost of replacements of similar quality then as they say
buisiness is buisness, but I would still prefer to see Milner @ Villa permenantly.
@Stu - Sneijder to man u?? Dream on son. LOL.
"According to the Mirror, Manchester United have enquired about signing Karim Benzema in a £25m deal from Real Madrid"...united don't have 25mil knocking around. Reactivating Paul Parker is all they can afford these days.
Although i rate Scott Parker, a major stumbling block to this move could be the ridiculous transfer fee Messrs Gold & Sullivan put on his head. If Villa have money in the till from Milners sale they will look on this as a great chance to try and get one over on Villa having endured many years living in the shadows at Blues. As he is pushing 30, £6m - £8m is probably realistic, but they will probably look for nearer £15m.
If City will pay £30m for Milner and Villa can get Parker, Onuoha, Ireland & Robbie Keane for around the same amount then its got to be good business.
Although Karim Benzema would be fantastic at Man United and he is an ideal player that will fit in at United, I just dont think United need anothrer strike. As a United fan I think United need another attacking midfielder and a defender more then a striker. Wesley Sneijder and Gary Cahill will be the perfect players United need. However I wouldn't mind Benzema at United but I think the dedence and midfield needs more attention on.
so it seems then yet another of our ' top players ' seems to think the blue half of manchester ( lmao ) is gonna be where he thinks he's going to advance his status. think the way barry has performed since his i want CL football but i'll take the cash instead kind of sums him up, n how badly exposed and lacking barry really was during the Wc... why milner would want to go and why indeed MON would even consider selling is also puzzling, we have a good solid foundation n nucleus of good english players in the squad, which with a few wise signings good hopefully take the club forward, but what do i know about football. In this day and age money talks, so if yet another player who MON wanted in his squad feels he must up and way to manchester wel good luck to him, and i concur with tuscanvillan welcome to the bench and resold within two years..just like barry will prolly be off loaded and become a forgotten by word in the annals of football.. c'est le vie.. Villa Punx :)
United seem to make a habit of turning top strikers into peripheral figures at the club - Tevez and Berbatov are just two in a line tha stretches back to a certain Diego Forlan, scoring goals for fun everywhere else. Perhaps Benzema is the next on their list?
rafa the jokes on u now. so please fkkkkofffff
Villa don't need to sell Milner to finance the deal for Scott Parker. But if Manchester City want to pay the asking price, then good luck to them and Milner. However, I would have thought that the player himself would be better to stay at a club where he has developed well in the last 18 months and some stability at this stage in his career. Milner should look closely at the careers of up and coming England players that have been damaged by big money moves to clubs where they will be bench warming. For me not good for Milner not good for England.
