MK Dons have confirmed Keith Andrews has been removed from the transfer list after talks with Roberto Di Matteo and chairman Pete Winkelman.Andrews - last season's League Two player of the year - was put on the list earlier this summer after speculation linking him with a move to join former Dons boss Paul Ince at Premier League side Blackburn.

But with the League One season starting this weekend with a trip to Leicester the club have decided to take the 27-year-old off the list.

A statement read: "After weeks of intense speculation surrounding Keith's future, the club decided to make its captain available for transfer, with the aim of clarifying as quickly as possible whether Keith would lead the team in the new season.

"With the new season now fast approaching, we feel the time is right to reiterate Keith's position as a Milton Keynes Dons player and allow him to focus on the start of the forthcoming campaign."
