Bournemouth have completed the signing of Portsmouth midfielder Joel Ward on a season-long loan deal ahead of the new League Two campaign.Ward could make his debut on Saturday against Gillingham and is allowed to play in any cup match provided it is not against his parent club.

Cherries Boss Kevin Bond said: "He's a good young prospect with a terrific attitude.

"He'll certainly play his part for us this season and he's one of those players who will be a lot better at the end of the season as he's got a lot of development in him.

"If I was concerned about putting him in my first team I wouldn't have brought him here. I've got no doubts that he can handle it and I'm looking forward to see how he does."
