Imps focused despite Millers' woe

Thu 07 Aug, 03:30 PM

Lincoln chairman Steff Wright insists preparations for the opening game of the season have been unaffected by Rotherham's off-field problems. The Millers have this week accepted a 17-point penalty from the Football League after failing to exit administration via the necessary Company Voluntary Agreement and for being declared insolvent for the second time in as many years.

Peter Jackson's side travel to the Don Valley Stadium - Rotherham's temporary home - on Saturday and Wright is adamant the Imps are focussed solely of footballing matters.

"We have not approached the game any differently to how we normally do," Wright told the Lincolnshire Echo.

"Had we allowed any doubt to creep into our minds that the game was not going to happen, then we could have put ourselves at a disadvantage."
