BSB - Hill and Kiyonari to race Hondas

Tommy Hill will return to the British Superbike grid with Hydrex Honda while Ryuichi Kiyonari has been chosen to represent HM Plant Honda at Croft.

Hill replaces Karl Harris, who recently parted ways with Hydrex Honda (pictured).

The former World Superbike rider was considered an obvious choice having starred on his brief outings with the Worx Crescent Suzuki team earlier in the season.

Left on the sidelines at Cadwell Park following the return of Sylvain Guintoli to the Suzuki team, Hill has since been called upon to join Shaun Muir's team for Croft.

"We are pleased to announce that Tommy will be joining the team from next weekend alongside Stuart Easton," the team announced.

"We hope that he adapts quickly to the Hydrex Honda and is able to secure two strong finishes at Croft."

Hill, who started the season riding for the Honda-affiliated Althea Racing team in World Superbikes, competed in just two meetings for Worx Crescent Suzuki, qualifying second on his debut at Mallory Park and managing a best finish of fourth at Brands Hatch.

Kiyonari, BSB champion in 2006 and 2007, has been racing in the world series for Ten Kate Honda in recent years, but will return to familiar territory this weekend as the replacement for Glen Richards, who continues to be sidelined by injury.

A surprise return for the Japanese rider, who has endured a chequered season at international level this year, Kiyonari is delighted to be returning to Croft, the scene of two of his race wins on the way to the 2007 title.

"I'm really excited to be riding for the HM Plant Honda team again," he said. "I'm also very happy to race in BSB and especially at Croft. I love this circuit and won both races when I last raced there in 2007."

Marking another revised line-up for the HM Plant Honda team, Kiyonari joins forces with Josh Brookes, who returns to action following his two race ban.

"I am there to get results, to be back on the podium and to stay focused on the final rounds," Brookes said.

"At Knockhill I was running at the front, not that far off Camier and we had a bit of a scrap, so I want to come back here and challenge him again."
