Spain striker Fernando Torres believes the European champions still have room to improve and will get better before next year's World Cup.
"This team is at a stage when it can still improve," he said two days after they thrashed Belgium 5-0 in a qualifier in La Coruna.
"We are young and we can learn and I am sure we will get better. I hope this team will give more of itself and that our best moment is still to come."
Spain, the world's second-ranked team after Brazil, can seal a place in South Africa by beating Estonia in Merida on Wednesday if Group Five rivals Bosnia fail to beat Turkey.
Vicente del Bosque's side has earned high praise in winning all seven of their qualifying matches but Liverpool striker Torres said the squad were keeping their feet on the ground.
"Compliments can weaken you if that's all you need to be satisfied," he added.
Torres said history would judge whether the current Spain side, with players such as midfielder Xavi and striker David Villa, was the best ever.
"We will see in time," he said. "We have won one European championship, we're putting together some impressive numbers and beating records but we'll have to wait before we know."
The Spanish federation said defender Gerard Pique had recovered from a shoulder injury and trained normally on Monday, while right-back Alvaro Arbeloa said he would be fit to face Estonia after recovering from a blow to his right foot.

You live in hope that somehow the nightmare will end, but it keeps going on and on. Man United win the league year after year, season after season and Liverpool’s fans and players just look on in envy. Gerrard dreams of his premier league medal then hangs his head in disappointment realising he's never won one and probably never will. 'This is our year' we hear the fans cry out, but as always your hope turns to frustration and then to the realisation that perhaps everyone is right, and Liverpool are simply not good enough anymore. Benitez bleats that it’s the players fault, and maybe he’s right, but after wasting £116m on a squad that looks wafer thin on talent you know the nightmare is getting worse. A once proud club built around legends like Shankley is now the laughing stock of England and those glory days are long gone never to return. But on the bright side - I’m really happy about that! Carry on laughing! Yak! Yak! Yak!
steve mclaren would be better
unlike liverpool they get worse
its all a load of rubbish
AVELLABONELLO-You're clearly either Spalletti himself or his agent, what exactly has Spalletti got that Benitez hasn't?????? he hasn't won any domestic titles(top division ones) whereas Rafa has 2, he hasn't any european titles whereas Rafa has a Uefa and C.L medal, and although he improved Roma and done well with Udinese, Rafa won the title with Valencia who had not won it for 31 years prior, and last season saw us finish with our highest points total since the premier league began.......even if Rafa left I think most Liverpool fans would want Rijkard or Schuester rather than Spalletti.
Spalletti is probably going to replace either Rafa Benitez at Liverpool or Leonardo at Milan or might opt for Zenith Saint Petersburg
Clearly LFC are the best and most demanding side from the lot, however Spalletti will be able to meet the high expectations such a top club as Liverpool FC demands of from managers as he has shown over the years when coaching Udinese and Roma and Spalletti will once again be able to bring back the glory days to LFC by winning the EPL in the next few years which in all fairness to Benitez he was never going to be able to despite coming close last year.
2005 was a nice year for LFC fans (Istanbul) such as me for that we thank u Benitez
2006 Fa Cup Trophy
2007 ZERO Trophies
2008 ZERO Trophies
2009 ZERO Trophies
2010 (this year) if Benitez will still be coaching us then ONCE AGAIN ZERO TROPHIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!
And so many Liverpool fans are really looking forward to the prospect of Mr. Luciano Spalletti coaching LFC !!!
Us LFC fans hope to see u soon Spalletti at Anfield versus Burnley :)
